I just did the front three. I still want to play with different gather types before I make a commitment.
I'm off to bed, have to go to the J-O-B in the morning, of course. Meanwhile, if you would, leave a comment and let me know what you think, OK? Should the ruffles be closer together, more "gathery", more rows, whatever?

Are the ruffles going to be tone on tone, the same color as the dress?
They seem a bit 'neat' to me. As in, I would like to see more of a messy ruffle on this particular dress, which can still be executed in your usual meticulous fashion, the messy ruffle, I mean.

Ditto on needing to see the dress hanging. But I concur with GaryWayne -- I think they look a little too evenly pleated, and need to look a little messier. I hate to say this (but apparently I don't hate saying it enough to NOT say it) --
I wonder if you should gather them by hand, so they'll be more uneven. I know, I know, perish the thought! But just a thought, nonetheless.
I can't believe you're doing this all in muslin. I'd be ripping and annhilating the "real" fabric, and out of simple impatience! Bravo!

Anyway, loving your blog. I just discovered it a few days ago, and needless to say, I haven't gotten much else done. Well, today I DID go to youngest dd's volleyball game, did some laundry - love what you call it, almost makes it sound like DOING IT (the laundry that is) could be fun, and some cleaning. We have some things in common, and I plan to email you later. I DO have to say that GaryWayne (that IS your son right? - I know in one of your postings you mentioned your oldest son had bought a house and had started a blog regarding it, and when I clicked on his name, it took me to a blog that said the owner has just bought a home he was renovating) has a great sense of humor also: "would like to see more of a messy ruffle on this particular dress, which can still be executed in your usual meticulous fashion, the messy ruffle, I mean."
Not too many guys would be inclined to give an opinion on something like this, but it appears he inherited your sense of humor, not to mention your sense of style. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your little girl vintage patterns -- would love to sit and plan, and dream, etc. with you. Perhaps someday.
